「尊厳」という重たい荷物

オーストラリアの裏の国歌として知られる Walting Matilda をいまだに聴いています。何百回聴いたのだろう？

waltzing は「放浪」、walting matilda は放浪者の持つ小さな寝袋のことです。
この可視における放浪者 (swagman) は移民を暗示し、警官はイギリス本国を示しています。
「もうお前らの世話にはならん。ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ税もはらわねえよ。ほっといてくれ。」って感じでしょう。

人間には「尊厳」というとても大きなかさばる荷物があります。
これは一生、人生を放浪しながら、かついでいくしかないのです。
みんなとひとまとめにして預けてしまえれば楽なんでしょうけど。
私はそのやり方には賛同しません。
時として尊厳は命よりも重いことがあるのです*1。

ギターが弾ける人は、トミーのタブがありますので、ちょっと弾いてみてください。
トミーとチェットの掛け合いなんですが、彼らの曲としては簡単なほうだと思います。
ベースのミュートをしっかりとかけて、切れを出すのが大事。
